Webpage Speed Optimization

As you are likely aware, Google started incorporating site speed in search rankings back in 2010:

“You may have heard that here at Google we’re obsessed with speed, in our products and on the web. As part of that effort, today we’re including a new signal in our search ranking algorithms: site speed.”

Using Site Speed in Web Search Ranking

Since that time, Google (and just about every other expert) has continued to emphasize its importance and have just included speed as a factor front and center in its mobile search algorithms.

Making Smartphone Sites Load Fast

As previously mentioned, there are an array of technical variables involved with optimizing a website’s responsiveness and speed – including effective caching techniques, asynchronous resource loading, file minifying and bundling, GZIP, image optimization, use of content delivery networks (CDNs) so files are stored closer to visitors, and so on.

These techniques not only speed websites up, they improve their security and reduce bandwidth.

There are platforms now available to help with these improvements. The two we leverage are Google Page Speed and Clouldflare. Configured correctly, these systems provide a centralized platform to manage many of the most critical elements associated with a website’s performance – without changing the website itself or its hardware.

Here’s Cloudflare’s global network of data centers:

Google’s network (national and international) is obviously equally comprehensive.

DCM will handle all of the setup. The program would include:

1. DNS configurations

selecting CDN (alone or in combination)

configuring CDN rewriters for maximum performance

installation report

monitoring site for 30 days

before/after reporting

2. Before/after reporting will often demonstrate dramatic improvement, as you will see here

3. Page speed Optimization Speed offers all sorts of benefits including:

– Increased Conversion Rate (more potential for inquiries)

– Improved Search Engine Performance

– Longer Visits and More Pages Views

– Better Mobile Experience

– Better Bounce Rate
